Posca pens have become a must have for artists, street art enthusiasts and creative souls all over the world. With their powerful, opaque colors and versatile uses, these pens are a tool that gives you complete freedom to create on almost any surface.
What are Posca Pencils?
Posca pens are acrylic-based marker pens known for their clear and opaque colors. Unlike many other marker pens, Posca is non-permanent until dry, allowing you to work with precision and adjust your work before it sets. The paint is water-based, which means it is odorless, non-toxic and easy to work with, both indoors and outdoors.
Why Posca Pencils?
Versatility
One of the biggest advantages of Posca pens is their versatility. They work great on paper, wood, metal, plastic, glass, textile and even stone. This makes them perfect for everything from traditional artistic work to street art, custom clothing and more.
Powerful Colors
Posca is known for its intense colors that cover well regardless of the surface you are working on. The colors are opaque, which means that they cover even dark surfaces without problems. In addition, they are available in a variety of shades, from classic colors to metallics and pastels, giving you endless possibilities to create exactly the look you want.
Different tip sizes
Posca pens come in a range of nib sizes, from extremely thin (0.7mm) to wide (15mm). This means you can use them for both detailed drawings and broad, expressive brush strokes.
How to Use Posca Pencils
-
Shake and Pump
Before you start using your Posca pen, be sure to shake it well with the cap on to mix the color. Then press the tip gently against a piece of paper until the paint starts to flow. -
Work on Different Surfaces
Feel free to test the pen on different surfaces to see how the color behaves. Posca adheres well to everything from paper to glass and wood. If you are working on a surface that will be used outdoors, such as stone or metal, you can apply a clear coat afterwards for extra protection. -
Stock on Stock
Posca pencils are ideal for working in layers. Because the paint dries quickly, you can apply multiple layers of paint to create depth and detail in your work. -
Wash off before it dries
If you accidentally draw a mistake, you can wash off the paint with water before it dries. But once it dries, it sticks firmly and is permanent.
